Why Dubai is a great family holiday
When most people think of Dubai they tend to think of glitzy large shopping malls, luxury hotels, skyrise buildings and fancy bars and restaurants and yes it has all of those but there's also a whole family-friendly side too.
Where else in the world can you be on the beach one minute, flying down a zipline in a city, skiing in the snow dome or quad biking through sand dunes.
If that's not enough for you, you can spend a day at one of the many theme parks or waterparks.
Here's why your next family holiday should be Dubai
Guaranteed Sunshine- Apart from July & August when temperatures are at there peak. Dubai is a perfect winter sun destination. The best time to visit is from November to April. But if like me you love the sunshine May half term has been a great time for my family to travel too.
Waterparks- Aquaventure is the No1 waterpark in the Middle East & Europe and even me not being a big waterpark fan couldn't help but love this place. Plus if you are staying at The Atlantis access to the waterpark is free! It has high adrenaline rides for the adrenaline junkies but also more sedate rides too. You can't beat floating along the lazy river in the sunshine with happy kids. Top tip: Bring some swim shoes with you as the floor at the waterpark can get very hot!
Aquariums- Dubai Aquarium is one of the largest suspended aquariums in the world and when staying at the Atlantis you get free access to the amazing aquarium in the hotel. Try to catch feeding time its amazing to watch the divers feed the many marine life.
Themeparks- You are spoilt for choice if you and your kids love theme parks as you will have plenty to choose from with IMG worlds of Adventure- Dinosaurs meet the avengers an indoor theme park the size of 28 football fields. Motiongate- Hollywood inspired adventures. Legoland Dubai-for the younger children 2 to 12. Bollywood Parks-magic of Bollywood cinema. And VR Park- the largest indoor virtual reality park in the world located in the Dubai Mall.
Burj Khalifa- Who wouldn't want to visit the Worlds tallest building? Even the kids were in awe of the view. Pre-book tickets and believe me the 125th floor is high enough no need to go to the 148th floor. Plus make sure you stay for the fountain show in the evening.
Flight Time- With Flights only being maximum 7 hours from the UK its a manageable travel time for kids without the jetlag as only 3 hours time difference when you arrive too.
Zipline- Fly through the Dubai Marina skyline- if you have children from 12 upwards this is an unforgettable experience. If you have nervous children you can also fly tandem.
SnowDome- Whether you want to ski, or have a go at the many snow-themed rides or just come to have some snow games and meet the penguins you can do it all here.
Desert Safari- Experience the real desert race over the sand dunes in a jeep and then watch a live belly dancer with a BBQ dinner.
Amazing Food and Top Class Service- With many top celebrity chefs having restaurants here, you will be sure have a great choice. The buffets in the hotels are also amongst the best I have ever seen. The large chocolate fountains are always a big hit with my children too.
